What inspired this session?

I went hiking at this location a few weeks prior to Lilly’s session. I wasn’t location scouting, but after walking by the waterfall, I knew I wanted to take pictures here. After talking to Lilly (the senior), we decided it would be perfect for her senior pictures.

What was your favorite thing about this session/senior?

My favorite thing about this session is how spontaneous and unique it was! Lilly was super down for all my ideas, and she was so much fun to shoot. It was over 90 degrees, but we didn’t let that stop us. Thankfully we were at a waterfall, so there was water to cool off in! Some of my favorite shots were taken in water!

What lenses and other equipment did you use? 

I used a Canon 50mm 1.8 and a 70-200! I did not have any lights (OCF) nor reflectors.

What is your #1 tip for marketing to seniors that you’d like other photographers to know?

My number 1 tip is to set yourself apart from all of the other senior photographers in your area. Find new locations, offer an experience, and find your own style. Also, *almost* all seniors are on Instagram, so that is a great way to market to seniors!
