What inspired this session?

This is one of those shoots where everything went so well.  As any photographer, I am always on the lookout for unique locations and props to use in my photography.  While reading Facebook group posts, I found where The Bokeh Backpacker (Gia Comfort) was offering photographers to use her location prior to selling the magnificent swing.  She also rents one-of-a-kind gorgeous gowns which she graciously offered to Kenidee, a Krystal Kaye Team 19 Model.  The day of the shoot, Rose Rebellion (Carrie Martin) also posted that her shoot using the vibrant peach, yellow and orange flowers was cancelled at the last minute.  I invited her to use them during our Senior session as well.

What was your favorite thing about this session/senior?

I love that this was a true collaboration of creatives coming together and creating this elegant, fun and beautiful session.

Kenidee is a beautiful Senior Team 19 Model for Krystal Kaye Images. We have shot at several locations and themes but this one was by far my favorite with her. Kenidee fully trusted me and my vision and took direction well during her session. I am incredibly blessed to have her on my Team 19.

I love working with seniors and love photography so to be able to do both is my labor of love!

What lenses and other equipment did you use?

For this session, I used my new Sigma Art 85 1.4 and a simple reflector on a few shots. It has been a great addition to my glass and is fast becoming my favorite lens.

What is your #1 tip for marketing to seniors that you’d like other photographers to know?

My #1 marketing tip for photographers is to be you and do you. Not every market is the same nor is every photographer’s skill level or offering. Do what works best for you. If reaching out to Seniors on Facebook works for you, do it! If reaching out to Seniors on Instagram, do it! Snapchat, Twitter, blogs, website, etc…do it! Find out what works for you and do it!
