What inspired this session and how was it planned?
Deeya (the senior) reached out to me over Instagram, and once she decided on a date and a package, we started talking location. I always like to ask what kind of “vibe” they are going for to help guide them in choosing a location. We designated a meeting place, and when she walked up wearing her chaniya choli, my jaw dropped! I was instantly so excited and so inspired! I knew exactly where I wanted to go in our downtown area that would truly show off the outfit to all of its glory!!
What was your favorite thing about this session/senior?
My favorite thing about the day was how Deeya incorporated her and her families Indian/Hindu culture into her senior portraits. It is obviously an important part of her life; and for her to boldly share that and walk around downtown with everyone’s eyes on her, it was a true testament to her passion for tradition.
What lenses did you use?
I mainly used my favorite lens, 85mm 1.8, but I did use my 35 mm 1.4 for a few shots.

What is your #1 tip for marketing to seniors that you’d like other photographers to know?
My tip to other photographers would be to think about doing a giveaway. I did one at the beginning of the year and that doubled my amount of followers and inquires on my sessions started pouring in! Get your name out there!!

Beautiful session. I love the way that she added the Indian coulture into the session as well.
